A jetted whirlpool bath is a big plus in your bathroom. They are beneficial to your health, especially when you have back problems. The jets on the whirlpool bath can be set to your preference so they provide a massage to relieve your whole body of its aches, pains and tension. When you come home after a long day at work it is nice to soak in the whirlpool tub for several minutes and just unwind and let the day’s stresses be washed away. But before you buy a whirlpool bath, there are thing that you have to keep in mind so you get the most suitable one for your needs.
Types of Whirlpool Baths
There are two types: air jet and water jet tubs. Air jet tubs have several dozen small jets that spew warm air through them and the water bubbles created by the air jets do the massaging. On the other hand, water jet tubs are composed of larger and fewer jets placed in strategic places within the bath so they target specific areas, such as your back. These jets can be turned to your desired direction so that they target your aching muscles much better. Water is spewed out of the jets at high speed to relieve your aches and pains more effectively.
Materials
A whirlpool bath can be made from acrylic, fibreglass or cast iron. Each of them has its own price range. Fibreglass whirlpool baths are the most budget-friendly. They are usually found in most homes because of their cheaper price compared to acrylic and cast iron models. Although acrylic and cast iron may be more expensive, they are durable and can last a long time and are also easy to clean. If you are working within a budget but you want either an acrylic or cast iron tub, you can look for suppliers that sell them at cheaper prices.
Tub Size
Size should be taken into consideration. Although it may be larger than a conventional bathtub, it can still fit in most bathrooms. Your tub should be of the right size so as not to crowd your bathroom and rob you of space big enough for you to move around comfortably. Whirlpool baths vary in size too, so you should be able to find one that is suitable for your bathroom and at the same time accommodate your body frame without compromising your posture while inside it.
After purchasing one, make sure that you can maintain it regularly to make it last a long time. One way to prevent build-up in the pipes is to use only manufacturer-approved bath oils and soaps. Some oils and soaps are detrimental to your tub’s performance as they can accumulate in the pipes over time. You can ask your installer what else you can do to maintain your bath or you can also look online for sites that teach you how to clean it properly.
